Adult Coat

9194701873?profile=RESIZE_710xHi I posted a picture a couple months ago of my puppy at 4-5 months. Her coat was just starting to change from light to dark. She now looks like this. You can see she still has some puppy fur on her head and legs but the rest of her is dark. When will she be fully changed over? She is a little over 6 months right now. (I was also told she wouldn't be dark to light back to dark but she is)

  • It's not uncommon for certain areas to be lighter than others in Poodles and Poodle mixes, especially as the dog matures. It's called "clearing" in certain colors. Her face and head are going to stay light, guaranteed.

  • Toby is a "cream" doodle (~8 months old) but has darker (tan/light apricot) areas on his ears, back and the backs of his legs.  I expect he will stay that way as he matures, I think his darker areas are actually getting more pronounced as he switches to his adult coat.

  • She is gorgeous
