Murphy who is my two year old ALD, contracted pneumonia last March when she was just over 1 year old. Two nights three days in a specialty hospital in Santa Monica and over a year of excellent care by her local veterinarian and Murphy, who is now two, is well. The pneumonia left her with rheumatoid arthritis. Massive does of prenisone helped with the arthritis and cost her half her hair and a total change of personality. Six long months later and the dosage of Leflunomide is finally correct and she is down to 5 mg of prednisone every other day. BEST NEWS!! Murphy's charming, sweet, feisty personality has returned!!! SO VERY SATISFYING for everyone. Tigger has endured it all with us and really taken the brunt of her crankiness. But she is back. Up and down stairs, on and off the bed, and playing ball with abandon. She is so confident that she reigns ove Tigger with confidence instead of being Queen Cranky. It is amazing. Shout out to my patient and knowledgeable vet as he got us through this during COVID. It was a beast: from drug misunderstandings between vet, pharmiscist, me and one complete breakdown to tears from me to husband and then vet Would not want to do this again.
