Puppy Chews?

Hi everyone! Wondering what chews you recommend giving to puppies around 9-10 weeks to keep them occupied and happy in the crate. Are bully sticks okay? He wasn't really into the stuffed Kong, but can always try that again. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

  • I don't give anything "edible" unless puppy is being directly supervised.

Have you tried the Nylabone durabones?  They come in a bunch of different flavors and my puppy Toby likes them.  We tried the puppy nylabones but they get destroyed super quickly around here.

If you like Kong products they also make bone-shaped things that you can stuff, puppy may be more interested in that.

    • Thank you! I figured anything edible could be too dangerous for unsupervised crate time. He doesn't seem very enticed by the Nylabone enough to calm down in the crate yet, but will keep trying it!

      • I think Toby really started taking an interest when he started actively teething around 15 weeks or so.  Before then he didn't care for them that much, he doesn't spend a lot of time in his crate though.

  • Bully sticks and other edible chews should only be given under supervision. Your best bet for chews while a puppy is crated are the non-edible Nylabones. They make all different kinds, so be sure that you get the non-edible puppy kinds. This is the kind of thing you want:
