WELCOME TO THE FOOD GROUP - This group was started in an attempt to present well-researched and FACT-based information on the amazingly complicated and confusing issue of feeding our dogs. There are also many issues we would like to explore. We thought it would be helpful to put all of these questions, information, and feedback into one place here on DK where everyone can find it, contribute to it, ask questions, and learn together.

It really depends on your individual dog's likes and chewing styles. I would stick with individual items rather than "variety packs".

And a reminder, we do have a list of recommended treat brands up at the top of the page, as well as many discussions about various kinds of chews. To look for these discussions, simply click "View All" right above this Comments section and then enter your search term..i.e. "chews" and you will get a list of all the discussions here in this group having to do with chews.

I’m looking for a good chew/treat for Barkley as well.  I see Barkworthies has many different items... bully sticks, trachea, cows tails.  Are there any that I should stay away from?  He is a big chewer and will chew up anything I give him pretty quickly!  But I do like to give him a treat now and then.

Thank you!

Glancing at some of their offerings, I see Amazon has Best Bully Stciks brand and Bravo brand. Both fine.

Be careful with sourcing on Amazon.

Comment by Bonnie and Kona on April 26, 2019 at 9:45am

Anyone have a favorite brand of beef trachea? Amazon has so many brands.

Comment by Karen, Jasper and Jackdoodle on April 26, 2019 at 9:16am

Yep, in those kinds of stores, I never even ask about the brands of the bulk chews. They guarantee sourcing and they've already done the research. Nice.

Comment by J and Riley (and Luna) on April 26, 2019 at 9:08am

There are a few small pet shops nearby that don't buy anything with questionable sourcing.  Makes picking up nice treats easy for us :)  not even sure of the brand but this latest beef trachea was Canadian
