"Something similar just happened to Finn. I noticed him licking his front leg. He ended up irritating what may have been a black fly bite. I monitored it for almost a week, used the topical spray from a previous hot spot but just…"
"Oh My YES!!! Finn was off leash once and found a raccoon carcass (too big to pick up thank goodness) so I was able to leash him. He has swallowed frozen mice, moles and frogs that he finds or hunted. He also will happily play with…"
"He is adorable!!! Two things that worked for Finn at that age were training class (and short practice sessions a few times per day-tires out those little brains) and DAYCARE (can you say slept most of the next day). His daycare was great…"
"You can also try a Kong that you stuff with healthy treat/kibble then freeze it (or a clean marrow bone). I can't remember how old your pup is or if he had tummy troubles so don't want to recommend something that would upset his…"
"Sounds familiar!! Finn is after everything!! Hunts frogs in the tall grass, then tries to play with them- needless to say that never ends well!! Then he carries it around in his mouth like his little pet- UGH. 2 weeks ago big ugly…"
"Hi there- I have an IMHA doodle too. How is your pup doing??? My Finn is staying gradually improving!! What a rough stretch though! The Ticks have been unbelievable here in Maine!! Hope your Doodle is beating IMHA and…"
"Can you tire her out then get in the pen with her. Settle her down with a treat/blankie and just hang out. If she falls asleep great- let her be. When she wakes right out for potty so she has no time to get stressed. Maybe…"

"Finn started out of the blue (October 10)with diarrhea so put him on chicken and rice. When he REFUSED to eat the next day and vomited we headed to the vet ( with sample). The thought was he had eaten something although I was 98% sure…"
"So sorry your Cooper is sick. My Finn is fighting IMHA- Immune mediated hemolytic anemia an autoimmune disease. His hematocrit (RBC) dropped to 11.5 and he had to have a blood transfusion. He was and still is very lethargic.…"
"Just a different thought- Is she hungry?? When we got Finn the amount of food the breeder told us to feed him was a bit less than he needed. He would literally try to eat the grass. Luckily we saw the vet 2 days after we brought him home…"
Hi Cathy, I just saw the comment you sent me. So sorry, I don;t check my page very often. Thanks for your kind comment about Finney. Your Finnegan is adorable too. We started with puppy classes and then Canine Good Citizen training. I researched the various therapy organizations and chose Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs. We tested through that organization and Finn got his certification but there are others that are national. Therapy Dog iInternational and Pet Partners come to mind. Then we joined a local therapy dog organization that already had a reading program in place. To go into the hospital, I had to get B&B in touch with the hospital volunteer office so that B&B could add the hospital to their list of insured facilities. Others here have started in libraries or in nursing homes. Some places will let you in with a well behaved pup if you explain you want to socialize the pup (at least that was my experience). I took FInn in to several nursing homes. Most people love the idea of therapy dogs and you'll find that they welcome you, as long as you go in and ask first, register your dog with them, etc. It's a wonderful experience to share your dog. Good luck. WIll be anxious to hear how you guys progress. DId you join the therapy dogs group?
Hi! I saw your post and had to respond! I'm getting a golden doodle at the end of the summer. I live in the Adirondack Mountains, not too far from Maine. I hope to see many posts from you! Enjoy your baby. I can't wait!
