So let us start off by saying that Khloe is a great dog and is very well trained, however she is just extremely hyper at 11 months old. I think we notice it the most (and are annoyed by it the most)…Continue

Hi everyone!  Our 9 month old goldendoodle, Khloe, is very energetic, so we take her on one or two 20 minute walks per day.  However, she will often SIT in the middle of the sidewalk or street after…Continue

Vet Guard vs Frontline vs Advantix

Has anyone ever used Vet Guard before? We originally started off using Frontline, but then we switched over to Advantix as we were told that it repelled AND killed ticks versus Frontline which just killed them (I am sure both would be sufficient at the end of the day).We got a few months supply of Advantix however it seems to leave Khloe's fur greasy for 2-3 weeks where we apply it, so we are not a huge fan of this.We are thinking about trying Vet Guard, so has anyone used it before? We can…See More

I checked to see if Khloe was an ALD, which she is not.  ALDs are extremely active in the evenings and I guess some goldendoodles are also!  It really is her age and she will settle down in another year.  That probably is not much help now, but I think the best thing right now is a lot of exercise so she is tired out in the evenings.  Then just ignore the behavior you do not want to encourage.  Off leash time is the best for running, so see if you can find some areas where she can be off leash.  My dogs are always tired after a good romp at the dog park.  Think of it this way - she is encouraging you to get more exercise and less TV.  It has got to be good for you.
