"Instead of looking for a puppy with an assigned size label, like mini or petite or medium, why not search for a dog who is within the weight and height range that you seek? Otherwise, you might end up with a "medium" that is smaller than…"
"Today I tried working some Zymox leave-in conditioning rinse into Charlotte's tangles and then combing the out carefully with Les Pooches matt zapper. It is time-consuming for sure, but it is doing the trick. "
"Charlotte is much worse than Wally. I spent a good amount of time working on her coat last night. I used corn starch (since I didn't have any of the other products at home) and worked it into the knotted areas. I then used my red Les Pooches…"
"I don't believe in Detangling products, because the coat should be detangled before washing it. Also all those products contain potentially harmful, unnatural ingredients. The best way to remove tangles is to do it yourself with barber…"
"I have used all three of those products. The one I would choose would probably be Horse Mane "N Tail. Spray a section and let it sit, then brush/comb. Spray another section...... Use the Cowboy Magic for specific mats, not the…"
"Hi Laurie! I groom my 3 and have a side grooming hobby/business. I actually have never used any of those 3 products, but I do have a friend that swears by The Stuff.
Honestly, if they are that matted I would take them to your groomer. For severely…"
I'm in my early 50s and live in a Boston suburb with my husband and our labradoodles, Wally and Charlotte. I'm also the mom of two grown children. I worked as a writer and teacher before becoming lucky enough to retire early. I spend my time with my husband, friends, family, and my furry buddies. I also enjoy cooking, photography, knitting, reading and walking - we take a couple of good walks each day. That's me in a nutshell. Oh, and we're in Cape Cod during the summer and Naples, Florida, for the winter.
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
Wally is an Australian Labradoodle from Tegan Park in Florida. His birthday is May 21, 2006. His parents are Zimba and Paige. He is extremely friendly and loves everybody and every animal he meets! Charlotte is also an Australian Labradoodle, and is from Heartsong Labradoodles in Kentucky. She was born on June 7, 2012. Her parents are Mattie and Cole. So far, at 11 weeks of age, she's a dream and we love her to pieces! And equally important is that Wally likes her, too.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
We enjoy going for long walks with friends, and spending time outside. Wally LOVES to play football in our backyard. We also enjoy hiking in the town forest and going to Elm Bank and the Weston Reservoir. Wally really likes to go swimming, especially at Crystal Lake in Orleans on the Cape. When Charlotte is a bit older, I hope to get her out in the world, just like her big brother.
Does your doodle(s) shed?
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
I do regular brushing, and they go to the groomer every 6-8 weeks.
Do you have a website of your own? If so, share it here:
Yes, I can see from your photos that they are not curly. My ALD, however, is very curly and actually has a rather easy to maintain coat. I keep him cut short after an initial try at having dreads. His hair dreaded very well, but it is a pain to try to keep up. And conditioner is definitely out for us. Sometimes I groom him myself and other times I have the mobile groomer bathe and groom him.
Your Aussie Doods are simply gorgeous...and they look so incredibly sweet. Lucky you! HA! and of course, lucky them. Cute cute cute. A couple of my friends just got aussie's so I will get first hand info on how they fall in love with their babies.

Haha...yes. We get SPAMMERS now and then. If only these spammers would get a feel for their audience they'd realize most of us ARE women and would prefer to see a doodle in a bikini than them ;-) I ban these new members as soon as I see them or someone reports them. If you click on their photos all that will happen is you'll be taken to their DK profile page...
