Hi Doodlemom~ Cooper is very cute! Just an fyi - when you have a question or looking for help you should probably start a discussion as you will get better response that way.  The status lines fall off the main page so quickly few members see them.  In my experience with excitedness at the front door, it is all in training, training, training!  The story of our lives! LOL  My doodles are 3 yrs and 1.5.  Now that Charlie is older he knows how to behave at the door, but his brother is still on a leash when we go to the door, and I ask him to sit and treat him, then open the door.  I have a leash right by the door specifically for that purpose.  However, once he sees who is there, I can take the leash off and he calms right down, so I guess the training has help.  I think as puppies they think everyone is coming to see them! When my boys were younger, I always instructed those coming through the door to ignore the dogs (like do not even look at them) until they were calm, then they could pet them.  It helps if the person entering knows the drill.

When you get a chance be sure to check out the groups section on the main page and join as many as you like.  There is a terrific Puppy Madness group, a great training group and about 300 other groups.  Something for everyone!  Welcome to Doodle Kisses!
