Hi there, I am just letting everyone know that Neely has a new puppy friend! My friend who has Harley the GD that I look after sometimes has just brought home an eight week old Bernese Mountain dog poodle cross. An Absolute gorgeous little guy! This mix is supposed to allow the normally short life span of the Bernese to be lengthened by infusing the doodle gene.
Since my son brought home his little Great dane puppy 10 weeks old for us during their reading week we have been enjoying… Continue

I am seeing and hearing all about doodles in the news this week.
Sadly there was an accident that killed eleven people and left three fighting for their lives near our community. They had a segment on the news about the driver of one of the vehicles and he was killed on his way to his eleventh wedding anniversary. His neighbors were interviewed and were talking about what a great guy he was and how often he spent time with his two Labradoodles! I don't know if they were on this site… Continue

HHe is adorable! Not that I was in favor of a second great dane for them! BUT What a cute little guy. He is really snuggly not timid at all, listens really well. He also cuddled up with Gramma on the couch and he laid his head on mine and his paw in my palm and breathed the beautiful puppy breath all over me! He was so soft and smooth and warm. This was a puppy fix! Here he is in the middle of Zee his sister and Neely the doodle daddy that has been there helping raise Zee to a year old and… Continue

Well I am disgusted that in my local paper there is a 5 month old Labradoodle for adoption through our local OSPCA. The cute little white fluff ball was surrendered by its owner. The poor little guy had his tail docked because he wagged it so much and was getting bigger and knocking things over with it. If I had the vet by the tail that did this I would put a little nick in his behind and see how it feels!
On a similiar note when in the city my son lives in last week while driving we… Continue

So Harley's daddy came and took him home! I had him all pretty and trimmed. His ears were clean. His nails were done. He was well fed and watered. He actually gained weight while he was here! With all the playing he seemed alot thinner but I think he got taller. We showed off his new tricks. Explained why we had to take him to the vet....and explained why I NOTICED his penis at… Continue

Well spring is starting to come around finally. Up in NorthBay Canada there is still a bit on the ground and in piles from snow removal. But the snow in my sons backyard is gone. This is getting to be a bit of a problem for my son as his 4 month old great dane puppy has always pooped on snow!! She will not go pee or poo in the yard anymore. They have a trail system close to thier house they use alot and there is only little patches of snow close to the tree bottoms. Zee the puppy has to find a… Continue

We are happy to say that we are puppy sitting for our friends while they are on vacation in Florida for two weeks. Harley is four months old golden doodle from the same breeder that Neely is from. He is adorable. They are spending all their time wrestling and sleeping. I think they should have named him shadow though. He loves to be by or with his people. Not clingy just likes to be beside me. I am uploading photos and some video so that you can enjoy them almost as much as I am. I was also… Continue

Hi there Doodlers! > We have just figured out that Neely has become a picky pee'er!
I had a suspicion last week when I took him to the dentist, mine. He waited in the car. Then we went to my mom's apartment for the lunch hour. Then out to my Grandma's nursing home where we do alot of visiting with all the residents there as well as gramma. We had to wait awhile for her until she finished her dinner. > He was out at intervals through out the day. I asked him to go pee on… Continue

I just thought that I would share that a good friend of mine and his wife went out and got a little puppy golden doodle from Burkehardt Kennels here in Canada, and where we got Neely from! He is adorable and very smart. His name is Harley, daddy is a bike guy! He was born the first week of November and he comes really well, sits and lays down already. Potty training is going well with the use of the crate. They also have two other old spaniels. He is fatter than Neely with redder ears and… Continue

I am upset and have been for some time regarding my sons ball team this year. He has a new coach that has taken his last year of baseball and flushed it down the toilet. Not only to my son but four in all. He says he didn't but the proof is in the pudding. This was our last year to watch our son play as he is leaving for university and this is the last year he is eligible to play due to age group. This is a boy that was to be the first baseman on a National team and competing in the Worlds as… Continue

I have done a really bad thing. I trimmed Neely's Man area. He has not left it alone since. He has it black and blue and soaking wet. We have put a diaper on him and the tip of his doodle do do sticks out enough to get at it. We have tried putting Lanacane anti itch cream on it. Apparently that tastes great! He has a thing for lotions to begin with. He loves to lick it off while your lathering up your feet! So we tried sprinkling it with gold bonds power. That just makes a sticky white paste… Continue

Being the parent of a teenage doodle is hard sometimes. What are we to do with them. Last week the real son took Neely over to a friends house to play. Just for a few hours in the day. Neelys friend Jessie lives there. They love to play. Jessie's yard is covered in cedar trees. So they played outside in the snow and in around the trees. He came home a mess! He had half a tree imbedded into his fur! Not to mention that dog slobber acts like gel and fuses the tree bits into the fur… Continue

Have you ever stopped to wonder, just what do the neighbours hear?
While standing on the front porch yelling JAZZY NEELY. I stopped to ponder? The neighbours must think the lady next door has lost her marbles and started yelling random phrases. Just think of what we sound like when we call our pets in. Where there is more than one in the household. The compinations we yell. Just think of your pets names and how it sounds in a phrase to passers by. Mocha Neely Tiny for… Continue

I have put alot of thought into how to handle our oldest dogs passing when it happens. She is 16 in March. She is doing well but as she ages I know the inevitable will happen.
Our cat is still with us in my sons room cremated. My other cat my other son felt the vet disposing of her was what he wanted. The other cats and various were buried on our farm we are no longer on.
I do like the pendant idea, that would be an option.
The question I had is has anyone ever thought of… Continue

Tonight on the news there was a story about the rescued animals from Katrina now showing signs of a deadly disease. Has anyone else heard of this and know any more.

Last night we went to the super dog show at our fall fair. They are a troop of dogs that show off obedience and do tricks and put on a great show with what they can do. THey have pure breds as well as rescued mix breeds. They are also sponsored by Presidents Choice. They introduced the new presidents choice dog food with a bit of a spiel about it and gave away three bags per show to audience members. I think we'll take a look at the price as it sounds like the idea we have in providing orejin… Continue

So here we are in Quebec City, Quebec for my son's baseball. Canada's East Coast Championships. We are mixing ball with tourism as well.
We decided to fly from Ontario instead of the 11 hour drive. So we looked into it and it was cheaper to flly Neely with us than board him and we wouldn't have to worry about the older boys looking after him or him chewing anything. They can handle the old girl just fine, she's done her chewing days. He had a good time at the airport before being crated.… Continue

Hi there, Well Neely has had a bad couple of weeks. He started about that long ago, one night we awoke to poop or loose stool near our doorway.
The night before he had been out just before bed and I went off to bed and he went back to the door and rang the bells. I didn't beleive him as he was just out. I thought that due to the heat he just hadn't had enough excercise and wasn't quite ready for bed. Apparently he wasn't fooling.
This has been happening nightly and he must run to one… Continue
