Hi Lorraine!! Good to hear from you! I tend to lurk more than post on DK these days! The dog at Bracebridge OSPCA is back up for adoption again, so it looks like it fell through. It just breaks my heart seeing dogs looking for new homes. Hope you are doing well!
Hi Lorraine, Sorry it took me so long to reply to you. I am a bit new to this site and wasn't aware i received any messages. The breeder who provided me with Jolie is 'Amalie Labradoodles' based in Brisbane (Queensland, Australia). She is also the secretary of the Australian Labradoodle Association & a mid wife professionally. Very knowlegable lady and loves her Labradoodles. Best wishes, Debi
Hi Lorraine! I haven't seen you on DK much lately. Are you and Neely okay? I know everyone gets busy during the summer but I also know you have some other challenges as well and hope they are not being troublesome. Hope you are just out having fun! Ricki & TaraBear
I Can't really comment on this topic because even though I did have one litter of the english cream Goldendoodles.. I only had 4 in the litter and I never knew about the bump of knowledge so I never even checked for it so I can't say if it was there or not.
The Mama of that litter was half english retriever and half poodle but I have retired her so I also no longer have her either to check to see if she had it.. UGH sorry. I retired her after her first litter because after nursing her puppies she had lost all her tail hair and a lot of hair off her back and she lost almost all her weight she was rail thin. I decided she was not a breeder and put her in a family home where she has bounced back completely. She was one of the prettiest dogs I owned and her puppies were some of the cutest we ever had but it was not for her. She is happy to be just a dog living the dogs life. Now my other Mama dog Daisy (standard poodle) LOVES being a mother and she's never had any problems with weight or giving birth or nursing or anything.. so she is what I use to compare my Mama dogs too. Sorry I kinda got off topic haha! I tend to do that sometimes. What is a knowledge bump by the way? LOL!
Thanks for all your thoughts and searching for me! You are so generous. Because I'm not looking for a puppy, I have been picking breeders who I have seen have either rehomes, retiring breeders or adult breeders for guardian homes. That is the case with Doodlelane/ Dare to Dream Labradoodles. Yes, I thought the same thing about degree in genetics, but I hadn't heard the puppy mill accusation. I will look into that.
I was an actor at the festival for a few years before having kids. My husband also worked there, but not at the same time as me. I'm sure we will be down in the summer to take the kids to a show. They are doing *You're a Good Man Charlie Brown*, aren't they?
Just stopped by to let you know that I have my appt. with the geneticist tomorrow. Hopefully he will be able to confirm the diagnosis of EDS. I have waited months for this appt. I'll let you know what I find out.
