Kate, Mel, Tenley & Harper replied to Kat and Winston's discussion Long drive home with puppy. in the group Puppy Madness
"It'll probably be easier than you think. Just think of places dogs don't typically go, and you should be fine. I had a 1.5 hour drive from my breeder's house to the airport with both T&H and we stopped at a non-dog-friendly hotel…"

Kate, Mel, Tenley & Harper replied to Cindy and Olive (Ollie)'s discussion Olive's UTI at barely 12 weeks old in the group Health and Medical Issues (for our pets)
"Harper had one at a similar age-- 7 days of Clavamox kicked it. There were 2 other times I was convinced she had them but she didn't. She just liked to pee in multiple "sessions", which she grew out of at about 6 months old.…"

Kate, Mel, Tenley & Harper replied to Richard Costa's discussion Puppy won't eat/drink - Scared/startled by bowls in the group Puppy Madness
"I'd try moving them to another location and seeing if that works. If not, putting out different bowls might work (before wasting your $$ on more dog bowls, just try one of your own bowls or containers and see if that fixes it)."

Kate, Mel, Tenley & Harper replied to Stacy, Winnie,Chewy & Pongo's discussion 9 week old puppy will not eat in the group The Food Group
"I'd try feeding her from a crate, too. Since she came from the breeder eating Purina, she very well may have been fed in a crate and is seeking the "security" of that. My Harper is almost 6 months old. She didn't eat in a crate…"

Kate, Mel, Tenley & Harper replied to Phoenix's discussion Wool or fleece? in the group Doodle Grooming
"It is more determined by the "feel" than the look. Assuming your dog is an adult, from looks alone your dog either has a curly fleece or a wool coat. Fleece coats are exceptionally soft, wool coats are a bit more wirey or poodle-like. They…"

Kate, Mel, Tenley & Harper replied to Kaitlin and Ludo's discussion Ideal Age for CGC testing in the group Training - Experiences, Challenges, and Mindsets
"I'd go for it-- honestly, of all the obedience classes I've taken with all 3 dogs, the CGC class (and then the CGC-A class) was the most beneficial, I think because you're really "applying" what you've learned in the…"

Kate, Mel, Tenley & Harper replied to Tara's discussion Cost to Groom in the group Doodle Grooming
"For my 35lb dogs, I pay $70/dog and leave a $15 tip per dog, so $85 total. For 65lb Mel, I pay $90 and leave a $20 tip for a total of $110."

Mel is probably just going through his new coat stage and it will be better after he (and you) adjust to his new coat.  Wolly coats are a little more problematic but I think just beautiful.  My 4-yr-old ALD has a wolly coat and we do his grooming here at home and always have.  He is about 3 inches all over, but his face is closer and his belly, feet, and ears trimmed.  If you have the time and inclination, home grooming is the best.

Hi Katelyn ~ Looking forward to seeing lots of photos of your doodles.  We have two ALDs also - Charlie Brown (3 and Beau 1.5).  When you get a chance be sure to check out the groups section on the main page and join as many as you like.  There is a group for Multiple Doodle Owners and also an ALD group (and over 300 others).  Something for every one.  Welcome to Doodle Kisses!
