"I'd get a martingale collar - the dog can't slip out of it.  I use them on two of my doodles who can slip a collar lickety split.  Among other breeds, martingales are used for whippets and greyhounds and other breeds who can…"

Zoey (9 weeks old) Chewed up part of a dead squirrel!

Hello!  I just found out that  our 9 week old slipped her collar and found a dead squirrel in the yard and ate part of it.  How concerned should I be?  I believe one of our cats had killed it and didn't realize it was in the yard until Zoey got a hold of it in the bushes and my wife could reach her to stop her.  She finally got Zoey and the puppy seems ok.  She drank some water but doesn't seem to have any ill effects so far.Puppies are Hard!!ThanksSee More

About Me:
I’m married, we have 3 grown sons and a beautiful 5 year old red-headed granddaughter, Alexa. We currently have a 10 year old Brittany/Lab, AJA and a myriad of indoor/outdoor cats.
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
We have just chosen our Black Labradoodle, “Zoey”. She is 2 weeks old today. Our gotcha day will be 4/27/19. We just found out yesterday that our 10 yr. old Brittany/Lab, AJA has a mass on his liver and probably only has a short time left with us.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
We are in love with doodles! I am partial to Labs and my wife is partial to poodles, so labradoodles are perfect for us. We can’t imagine life without a puppy/dog.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Love them

It’s so hard to lose a beloved pet. I’ve lost them when I knew it was coming and when it was sudden. I’ll take knowing any time. Give Aja an extra hug from me.

Aha looks like such a sweet girl. I’m so sorry about her illness. Zoey is going to be beautiful with that black coat. She looks sooooo tiny.
