"I hope her healing goes well.  I sure wouldn't know how to keep a pup calm during healing but they do heal fast!   The socks are a good idea.  You can have fun with colors & prints.  "

"Vitamins won't do a thing to promote hair growth or make the hair grow back quicker. There are all kinds of "snowsuit" type garments you can buy for dogs, that cover their legs. You might also try just cutting the feet off a pair…"

Vitamin/Supplements for Puppy hair growth

My goldendoodle puppy recently had surgery to repair a broken leg. She is doing absolutely great, and we are so happy with how well her recovery has gone thus far! She really is an absolute trooper!! For the surgery they had to shave the affected leg and cast it. Yesterday her cast was removed and we were able to finally see her leg since the surgery. She has a very thin layer of hair present so it isn't completely "bald" but we are anxious to have her hair grow back to a more normal length. My…See More

"Thank you for the tips! We are kenneling her at night and during the day while we are away and keep her in a play pen while we are home as much as possible. She gets restless sometimes so when we do let her out of her pen we confine her to the…"

"Thank you! She's pretty good about resting when it's just us at home, just sad to see her having to be rested up when I know she's dying to just run around and play. Hopefully we will be looking at a speedy recovery! Thanks again!"

"I know of a doodle of a similar age who jumped out of her owner's arms and broke her leg--she had a cast and was healed and fine in 6 weeks with no surgery and no lasting issues. But I have no idea if it was a similar issue--sounds like you…"

"I read that puppy’s bones, though fragile, heal quickly — 2-5 weeks. I think what you are currently doing is a great plan to keep her off her leg as much as possible. I would crate her most definitely at night and whenever you…"

My doodle puppy injured her leg, HELP!

My baby Penny is an 11 week old Standard F1b golden doodle. She has been the best addition to our home and we are completely in love with her! Recently on Monday she jumped off our bed and injured her back right leg. I could kick myself for putting her up there in the first place but I turned my back for 5 seconds and off she went. This dog has absolutely no fear.I took her to our vet, at the time, immediately after the jump to make sure nothing was broken or seriously injured. They examined…See More

What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
Standard apricot F1b named Penny Lane born August 3, 2018.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
I originally wanted a golden retriever because of their sweet and loving nature but after talking to friends that had Golden’s I realized that I would never be able to keep up with the shedding hair. (I really hate to vaccum) so I started to explore other options and found goldendoodles to be the best fit for my family! They are truly AMAZING dogs and Penny is living proof of that!
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Play outside, snuggle, watch TV (Penny is fascinated by the TV), learn new tricks (she is ridiculously smart)
Does your doodle(s) shed?
Nope!
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
No one yet, she is still a baby!
